A new global survey by Expereo reveals that 41% of organizations are struggling to find and retain cybersecurity professionals, highlighting an ongoing talent crisis in the tech sector. The study, which surveyed 650 technology leaders worldwide, shows companies implementing various strategies to address this critical shortage. Organizations experiencing cybersecurity talent retention challenges face increased business continuity risks.

Organizations Take Action to Bridge Skills Gap

To combat the talent shortage, companies are deploying multiple approaches to develop their workforce. The survey shows 56% of organizations are focusing on human skills training, while 52% are implementing internal upskilling and cross-training programs. Additionally, 43% are investing in professional vendor certifications to enhance their team's capabilities. Implementing comprehensive cybersecurity awareness training programs has become essential for modern organizations.

AI Integration Brings Opportunities and Challenges

The research highlights the growing influence of artificial intelligence in the business landscape:

84% of global businesses are currently deploying AI solutions
Two-thirds of organizations expect AI to have a positive impact on costs
Only 12% report AI falling short of expectations

However, significant challenges remain in AI implementation. Organizations face several key obstacles:

Infrastructure Limitations Pose Significant Hurdles

The study reveals concerning infrastructure gaps that could hamper technological advancement. More than half (52%) of organizations report their existing network and connectivity infrastructure isn't prepared to handle new technology initiatives. Even more striking, 94% of organizations indicate their networks limit their ability to run large data and AI projects to some degree. Organizations must prioritize attracting and retaining qualified tech talent to address these infrastructure challenges.
